Terms & Conditions of Service

​Blue Harbor Babysitting Co. & Blue Ridge Babysitting Co.

By requesting, booking, or using services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking & Payment

Submitting a booking request does not guarantee sitter availability.

👉 Payment is only processed once a sitter has been confirmed and assigned to your session.

No charges are made for unfulfilled booking requests.

Once assigned:

  • Your session is confirmed

  • Your card is charged

  • Your sitter’s time is reserved exclusively for your family

  • ​

2. Service Model

Blue Harbor Babysitting Co. and Blue Ridge Babysitting Co. operate as fully managed childcare providers, not referral services.

All babysitters:

  • Are W-2 employees of the Company

  • Are background-checked and vetted

  • Are covered under Company insurance

Clients are not considered employers and assume no payroll or tax responsibility.

3. Session Pricing

All services are provided as flat-rate sessions.

Rates include:

  • Caregiver wages

  • Payroll taxes and insurance

  • Administrative and operational support

Additional time beyond the scheduled session:

  • Billed at $40 per hour

  • Charged in 15-minute increments

Extensions are subject to sitter availability.

4. Staffing & Ratios

The Company determines staffing levels based on:

  • Number of children

  • Ages of children

  • Environment (home, beach, event, etc.)

  • Overall care needs

👉 General guideline:

  • Up to 4 children per sitter

However, lower ratios or additional sitters may be required.

The Company retains sole discretion over staffing decisions to ensure safe and appropriate care.

5. Multi-Sitter Assignments

For bookings requiring multiple caregivers:

  • Additional sitters may be assigned

  • A reduced rate may be applied to additional sitters at the Company’s discretion

Staffing decisions are made based on safety and care needs, not pricing.

6. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing through the Company system.

Refund eligibility:

  • 30+ days prior: 100% refund

  • 15–30 days prior: 75% refund

  • 3–14 days prior: 25% refund

  • Less than 72 hours: Non-refundable

  • ​

7. Assigned Sitter Policy

Once a sitter has been assigned:

  • The session time is reserved specifically for your family

  • That time is no longer available to other clients

👉 As a result:

  • Assigned sitter time is non-refundable

  • ​

8. Failure to Provide Care

If the Company is unable to fulfill a confirmed booking due to:

  • Sitter unavailability

  • Scheduling limitations

Clients will receive:

  • A full refund, or

  • A replacement sitter when available

  • ​

9. Scope of Services

Services are limited to childcare supervision.

Sitters do not provide:

  • Housekeeping

  • Errands

  • Transportation

  • Meal preparation beyond what is provided

  • ​

10. Safety & Supervision

Children must remain under appropriate supervision at all times.

Children will only be released to authorized individuals listed in the booking or approved through Company communication.

11. Transportation Policy

Sitters are not permitted to:

  • Drive children

  • Ride in vehicles with clients

All care takes place at the approved location unless otherwise authorized.

12. Communication

All communication must occur through the Company platform.

Clients agree not to:

  • Exchange personal contact information with sitters

  • Arrange care outside of the Company

​

13. Non-Solicitation

Clients may not hire or attempt to hire Company sitters outside of the platform during service or within twelve (12) months following a booking.

Violation may result in fees or legal enforcement.

14. Liability & Insurance

The Company maintains insurance coverage for its operations.

Clients agree to provide a safe environment and disclose:

  • Relevant medical information

  • Safety concerns

  • Household conditions

15. Policy Updates

The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time.

All updates will comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

16. Agreement

By submitting a booking request or using services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
